Purim Food Baskets
Wednesday February 25, 2009
Food baskets, called Mishloach Manot in Hebrew or Slach Manos in Yiddish, are given on Purim. Jewish law says to give two different types of ready-to-eat food, each of which require a different blessing, to at least one person. Given the fun of this mitzvah, more and more people today are giving creative baskets on Purim day.Photo © 2006 Giora Shimoni, licensed to About.com, Inc
