Looking for a easy, versatile, tasty fish recipe? This is it. Buy any fish you like, mix together sauce ingredients you are sure to have in your pantry, and bake for 30 minutes. This recipe comes from Sara Finkel's cookbook, Classic Kosher Cooking: Simply Delicious.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs. (1 kilo) fish fillets (whitefish, trout or pike)
  • salt, to taste
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • pinch garlic powder

Preparation:

1. Sprinkle fish lightly with salt. Let stand for half an hour.
2. Combine sauce ingredients in a bowl and spread over fish slices.
3. Place in a greased baking pan. Bake in preheated 350 degree Fahrenheit (180 degree Celsius) oven for 25-30 minutes.

YIELDS: 8-10 servings.
