Give your July 4th cookout a special homemade touch by serving this Old-Fashioned Lemonade. This flavorful drink cools, refreshes and brings back lovely memories.

Cool boiled water and sugar: 1 hour
Total Time: 1 hour, 6 minutes
Yield: 6 glasses
Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- juice from 6 freshly-squeezed lemons (approximately 1 cup)
- 4-5 cups cold water (depending on how strong you like it)
- ice cubes
- 1 lemon, sliced
Preparation:
1. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add 1 cup of sugar, and stir until dissolved. Cool. Pour into a large pitcher.
2. Add lemon juice and water.
3. Just before serving, add add ice cubes and lemon slices to the pitcher. Alternatively, place ice cubes and 1 lemon slice in 6 tall glasses, and then fill with lemonade.
Variation: For a lemon slush, crush ice in blender and add lemonade.
