Sweet Brisket (Meat, Passover)

Brisket, when correctly cooked and cut, is festive, fragrant, flavorful, and fork-tender. Enjoy this popular cut of breast meat during the Passover Seder.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 4 hours, 00 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 7-8 pound brisket, washed and drained
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup Coca-Cola
  • 1/2 cup dry red wine
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 6-8 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 2 onions
  • 1 tsp. paprika

Preparation:

1. Place brisket in large roasting pan with a cover.
2. In a bowl, mix all seasonings well.
3. Pour seasoning mixture on top of the brisket, and cover brisket.
4. Best if marinated overnight.
5. Cook at 325 degrees Fahrenheit, covered, until done - approximately 4 hours.
6. Cool. Slice diagonally against the grain into thin strips.
7. Best if refrigerated overnight and reheated the next day.
