Jamie Geller, author of Quick and Kosher Recipes from the Bride Who Knew Nothing, contributed this recipe for Baked Spicy Sweet Potato Fries. Simply mix the sweet potatoes with this delicious blend of spices and oil, and bake until the fries are crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. Yum!

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour, 00 minute

Ingredients:

  • 3 large sweet potatoes, cut into 1/3-inch thick slices
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon coarse black pepper
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • Ketchup or honey mustard (optional)

Preparation:

1. Preheat oven to 425° Fahrenheit (220° Celsius). Lightly grease 2 9 x 13-inch baking pans with non-stick cooking spray.
2. Place cut potatoes in prepared pans.
3. In a small bowl, mix cumin, garlic powder, salt and peppers, and sprinkle over potatoes.
4. Drizzle oil over potatoes. Toss to distribute oil and seasonings evenly.
5. Bake at 425° Fahrenheit (220° Celsius) for 1 hour or until crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside.
6. Serve with ketchup or honey mustard on the side, if desired.
