While I'm personally not a big fan of Apple Kugel (is it a dessert or a side dish?), I do really enjoy eating it during Passover. Something about the bland and heavy feeling of Passover food makes Apple Kugel a welcome Pesach dish.
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour, 00 minute
Ingredients:
- 6 Golden Delicious apples, peeled and sliced thin
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup potato starch
- 1/4 cup oil
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preparation:
1. Mix apples, eggs, potato starch and oil.
2. Pour into an 8 inch square pan
3. In a separate bowl, mix sugar, juice and walnuts.
4. Pour over apple mixture.
5. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour.
6. Serve cold or at room temperature.
NOTE:
This recipe can be doubled and baked in a 9x13 inch pan.
